A well-working, attractive, and secure garage door is an essential part of owning a home. Not only do garage doors provide easy access to storage for your vehicle, but they also play a critical role in curb appeal adding value to your home's worth and overall appearance.

Garages are also an excellent way to safely and securely protect your belongings from theft & environmental damage. With so much at stake it’s so important to have a professional company you can rely on for maintenance, service & repairs, and installation.

Below is a list of Frequent Issues with Garage Doors

BROKEN CABLES

BROKEN CABLES

When the garage door cable breaks there is only one way to fix it, and that is to replace it.

Drums and Cables are an integral part to the movement of your garage door and unfortunately with any moving part, you get wear and tear and eventually failure.

It is a good idea to have your cables and springs looked at once a year to ensure reliable and safe functionality.

Both require a trained and experienced technician to properly and safely install due to the tension and calibration needs.

The only way to fix a broken garage door spring is to replace it with a new one.

Most springs last 7-8 years depending on usage.

It is important to have springs regularly inspected and maintained for safety & efficiency.

Nylon rollers are typically quieter than steel rollers and require less maintenance but are a little more costly.

Steel rollers may be cheaper and last a little longer but require lubrication and are usually noisier than Nylon.

An overhaul involves a comprehensive renovation of the garage door components like replacing worn out or corroded hinges, cables, drums, springs, rollers, etc or replacing the opener while a tune up is more preventative inspection and lubrication of parts and correction of existing parts.

2. If the garage door only opens or closes part way there could be an issue with the lock, rollers, or hinges. Sometimes the door will be off balance or out of alignment due to broken cables or spring which affect the way the opener operates. Other times it may be the travel limit, force setting, or bad RPM sensor.

3. If the opener isn't responding at all make sure it has power (check breaker and/or GFCI). Other possible issues are door is locked, door is frozen, or spring is broke.

4. If remote is not engaging operator make sure its not in vacation mode or locked mode. If works from keypad or door control button try replacing the batteries or reprogramming the remote.
