Drums and Cables are an integral part to the movement of your garage door and unfortunately with any moving part, you get wear and tear and eventually failure.
It is a good idea to have your cables and springs looked at once a year to ensure reliable and safe functionality.

Both require a trained and experienced technician to properly and safely install due to the tension and calibration needs.
The only way to fix a broken garage door spring is to replace it with a new one.
Most springs last 7-8 years depending on usage.
It is important to have springs regularly inspected and maintained for safety & efficiency.

2. If the garage door only opens or closes part way there could be an issue with the lock, rollers, or hinges. Sometimes the door will be off balance or out of alignment due to broken cables or spring which affect the way the opener operates. Other times it may be the travel limit, force setting, or bad RPM sensor.
3. If the opener isn't responding at all make sure it has power (check breaker and/or GFCI). Other possible issues are door is locked, door is frozen, or spring is broke.
4. If remote is not engaging operator make sure its not in vacation mode or locked mode. If works from keypad or door control button try replacing the batteries or reprogramming the remote.
